ACTION PROGRAM - P
Chinon CP-6 PR
THE MOST LOGICAL PROGRAM SELECTION
Although the Chinon CP-X incorporates a single program AE, it still is the most versatile program system camera available. Unlike other program AE SLRs, the Chinon CP-X does not require special mount lenses and works perfectly with the universal "K" or "KA" or "KR" mount lenses.

This breakthrough in technology not only preserves your investment in lenses but also provides an extensive variety of future lenses which will couple precisely to the Chinon CP-X.

Chinon CP-6 CPX camera

Just turn the exposure mode dial to "P" mode, set the lens aperture ring to the minimum aperture setting and you are ready for action freezing photography.

APERTURE PRIORITY AUTOMATION - FOR ARTISTIC EXPRESSION

Chinon CP-6 PR By simply turning the exposure mode dial to the "A" mode you are set to alter the depth of field as you desire and the camera will automatically select the correct shutter speed for the scene. You can then fine tune your photograph with a control of the focus for a more precise artistic and creative expression.

MANUAL EXPOSURE MODE - PEAK OF CREATIVE EXPRESSION

Chinon CP-6 PR The Chinon CP-X embodies a fully metered manual exposure control. When you need more than auto exposure to create stunning creative effects, intentionally over or under exposing the image is as simple as manually selecting the aperture and shutter speed of the camera. Then, the easy to read viewfinder LEDs indicate proper, over or under exposed light measurements.

DETACHABLE POWER GRIP/BATTERY CONTAINER

Chinon CP-6 CPX camera

The CP-X body grip not only supplies power to the camera, but also provides additional handling stability. Since it is detachable, it can easily be removed when the camera is not in use. In addition, it eliminates accidental battery corrosion, It's unique construction enables the user to employ either silver oxide or lithium batteries.

SELF-TIMER/AE LOCK SWITCH

Chinon CP-6 PR By sliding this switch to the upper position and depressing the shutter release all the way down, the CP-X's self timer is activated. The shutter will automatically be tripped in 10 seconds if the switch is not returned to the middle position. When the switch is placed in the lower position, a one touch AE lock is activated for more demanding lighting situations.

EXPOSURE MODE DIAL: CP-X

Chinon CP-6 CPX camera

All the controls for multi-mode photography are conveniently laid out.

1 ) Release lock to prevent accidental exposure.

2) Program Mode: The CP-X chooses shutter and aperture, but emphasizes shutter speed for
    shake-free photography.

3) Aperture priority AE Mode. This mode controls the depth-of-focus for that perfect creative touch.
4) Manually Adjusted Exposure. The full range of manual light measurements are smooth and convenient for both the beginning and advanced amateur.
5) Flash Setting: 1/60 second, x-sync for non-dedicated flashes, is clearly marked in red.

THE CP-X VIEWFINDER - FULL UNCLUTTERED CONTROL FOR BRILLIANT PHOTOGRAPHIC IMAGES

Chinon CP-6 CPX camera

1. Green program LED indicator.

2. Red aperture priority AE LED. (AE lock: blinking LED)

3. Over exposure red LED.
4. Green correct exposure LED (blinking for 1/30th sec. and slower in AE modes)
5. Under exposure red LED.
6. Dedicated flash recycle red LED.
7. Split image focusing system Used to focus vertical subjects and to make focusing with extreme
    wide angle lenses more convenient.
8. Microprism collar - Used to focus subjects under low light conditions and when
    long telephoto lenses are used.
9. Ground glass screen - General purpose method of focusing.

FULLY AUTOMATIC FILM SPEED SETTING SYSTEM

Chinon CP-6 PR

When DX coded film is used, the proper film speed will be assigned no matter where the film speed dial is set. The beauty of this system is that there is then one less setting to worry about - more time for concentrating on great pictures. If non DX coded film is used, you can manually set the film speed by lifting and turning the film speed dial to align the appropriate ISO number with the index mark.
